August Stamps on a Layout

Hello! Patricia here with you today.

I am always so impressed with the amount and variety in the kits, and August’s kits are no exception. I think the icing on the cake are the exclusive stamps that come in the Main Kit and the Main Life Pages Kit. Useable, fun, and just cool!

Stamping directly on my layout is how I usually will use stamps, but when I want to get creative, I try out different ways.

Based on what the designs and sentiments of the stamps are, I choose the direction of my layout. In this case, I chose the banners, party theme, fun exciting sentiments like YAY and CELEBRATE.

So the direction I went with was a birthday themed layout. I stamped on plain vellum I purchased at Office Depot using StazOn ink. And then started fussy cutting those images out. I wanted to ‘extend’ the banner stamp that says ‘we’re having us a party,’ so using a kraft knife, I cut away the inside of the “You Did It” pennant stamp.

Once my photos were in place, I stitched the pennants to the layout. I overlapped the ‘we’re having us a party’ over the main photo using a Scotch ATG.

To add more stamping and pull in the fun birthday theme, I stamped on labels and die cuts using StazOn ink again. For the gold label, I added a little baby powder to one end, so it would flip up and create interest and dimension, and tucked and adhered the other end under my photo.

Of course, these stamps are perfect for cards or your Life Pages cards. But hopefully, this inspires you to think of unique, fun ways to give them a twist to your next project.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and hope you post on Instagram and/or the gallery so I can see what you do with the July kits! Use hashtag #gossamerblue for Instagram and tag me @Patricia_Roebuck.
