Gossamer Blue

Brenda’s Summer Vacation Pocket Pages

In July, my friend and I went on a quick mountain trip for a chance to escape our everyday monotony. We didn’t end up doing much over those few days other than wander around the forest, but I took quite a few pictures that I was eager to document. The July kits were the perfect color scheme for my photos and went well thematically as well.

First, I made a 6×8 intro page with twelve 2×2 pockets. I used a piece of chipboard from the Life Pages kit and the tags from the scrapbook kit. I trimmed them down vertically so they’d fit in the pockets. I wrote try the “Go. See. Do.” with the alpha stickers from the Life Pages kit. The phrase stickers from the scrapbook kit were the perfect addition to the smaller photos.

I absolutely love the colors and the typography of the cards in the Life Pages kit. The blues and greens played well with my nature photos. I used the stamps, also from the LP kit, to add extra touches around the spread.

I layered some washi with chipboard and a diecut label with a stamped sentiment on it. I used chipboard on both bottom cards to give extra dimension to an otherwise flat page.

I went with the stars theme for this spread and stamped the “my rating” and colored in with a colored pencil. I matted my photo with some paper from the traveler’s notebook kit and then added some stamped sentiments using the LP stamp again.

I stuck with a few different colors for this spread: black & white, green, and red. I repeated the use of those colors throughout to unite the spread.

The stars motif from the previous spread is continued here with stars background paper (from the Traveler’s Notebook kit), the clear and white epoxy star stickers, and of course the card from the LP kit.

I used the block stickers from the LP kit to make a title for my hearts card. I also stamped the “Let’s do nothing” with the LP stamp. The sunburst paper from the scrapbook kit worked well for my sun flare photo, especially when paired with the tag with the golden yellow, also from the scrapbook kit.

I love how easy it is to mix and match pieces from all kits to make any type of project. Get to mixing those kits and be sure to share your finished product with us!
