Good morning GB fans! Today I wanted to share a fun layout I made with the July kits.
I started the page by hand-stitching a few of the 5’s with red floss. Next, I fussy cut a bunch of the flowers and leaves from the blue floral paper to use as embellishments.
The photo is layered on tissue paper from my stash, along with some of the awesome patterned papers in the Main Kit. I added the tags, with the Good Friends tag as the secondary title, then added the word Hooray with staples right on the photo as the main title.
I added in chipboard, a rubber banner and an epoxy sticker for additional embellishments.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
Hello everyone! Here’s a challenge for you: find one of your old photos and scrap them using your stash of current Gossamer Blue kits!
I was cleaning my room the other day and I found a set of my old photos from 2013. They were from a family vacation we took to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Can’t believe how I didn’t scrap such an important event in our lives! So I decided to use these photos and update them a bit using my June Scrapbook kit.
I went through the supplies and looked for seafoam colored embellishments to match the photos. I used to avoid using chipboard because I found them bulky but now I realize that they add dimension to the layout. Chipboard stickers are also perfect for use in a Traveler’s Notebook which can withstand their bulkiness.
The kit also came with this beautiful ticket themed scrapbook paper. I cut the tickets out to use as ephemera.
There are 2 things I learned from this old photo challenge. One, using your Gossamer Blue kits can help you create a layout that is current and modern no matter how old your photos are. Two, scrapping old photos is a fun way to reminisce about the happy moments from the past.
Hello everyone! When you check the hashtag #illustratedfaith on Instagram, you’ll see a community of people documenting their faith inside their journaling bibles using scrapbook and craft supplies. I’ve been feeling so inspired by what they have been doing, so I decided to apply the same technique using one of my favorite books, The Happiness of Pursuit by Chris Guillebeau.
I read this book last year and I loved it! I wanted to creatively document some of my takeaway learnings from the book.
One of the best supplies to use for writing down quotes is an alphabet sticker sheet. You may also opt to use a set of acrylic stamps or a label maker.
My past Gossamer Blue kits had a lot of ephemera that I could use for decoration. I especially loved this set from the May kits that contained lots of flowers.
Documenting my takeaways from the book helps me to remember them better and be creative at the same time. Hope you can try it too!
