Hello Gossamer Blue fans! It’s Adrienne here today with a different twist on a traditional layout using some Life Pages cards from this month’s kits. Summer is upon us and that means trips, vacations, travel photos, and stories that will need to be documented.
Sometimes our summers are busy and full of activities and sometimes they’re a bit more relaxed and slow. For my family, this summer will be filled with lots of traveling so I was inspired to come up with something quick and easy to keep my scrapbooking process flowing even when I don’t have the time to create a full Life Pages spread or traditional page.
Supplies: June 2014 Main Kit, June Main Add-on Kit, June 2014 Life Pages Kit, June Life Pages Main Add-on Kit, June Life Pages Themed Add-On Kit, June Add-on Kit #3
I took two large pieces of vellum and sewed them to my background paper along three sides to make two pockets. I like how the vellum is transparent so I can still see what’s behind it keeping my photos and journaling cards visible. This is also something you could do ahead of time so that when you return from a trip or an outing your base page is already set up and ready to fill with with photos and trip treasures. The pocket page could also be used over again in case you decide to do something different with your photos at a later time.
I embellished a few of the travel-themed 4×6 journaling cards from the this month’s Life Pages kits with a few rub-ons, stickers, and photos. I used the extra space to journal about our recent travel adventures and slipped them into the vellum pockets I created.
Keeping more of a “traditional” layout design in mind, I used several different embellishments from the June kits and adhered them to the outside of the vellum pockets. I also added rub-ons to a few of my photos, still keeping the design simple and quick for time purposes.
Thanks for stopping by today!
