Gossamer Blue

Mel’s Life Pages

Hello creative friends! Melanie here today to share with you another personal PL album spread. I have to admit that I am not as diligent at keeping up with my personal album as I am with my family album. But whenever I have spare pictures that focus on me and a bit of free time I will create an entry or two. I do love working with a 6×8 album, I have to say that it is probably my favorite memory keeping format, the smaller pages really make the process much easier to work with. The space is limited so the stories selected are more important or meaningful; I am not simply filling the pockets. I dream of having my family LP album in 6×8 but there are just too many stories to tell with a family of 5.

To create this spread I used the July LP kit, as always the Gossamer Blue kits are full of amazing cards and embellishments, they offer such a wide variety of products that the creative process really is so easy. I also used an alpha stamp set that GB released a little while back to subscribers, it is the perfect font size for 3×4 cards.

I love to incorporate words in my LP spreads, but sometimes few words are required. This was the case with documenting the books I read in June, I didn’t need to give a recap of each book I simply wanted to capture which books I read, so the black and white card with the speech bubble really was ideal for this recap.

All the heart eye emoji for the gold stickers that are included in the kit. They are seriously amazing and one of my favorite embellishments ever released by GB! On this spread I used them as accent to a journaling card and directly on a picture. They are versatile and so fun to include on a spread or any creative project.

Yep that’s me! Every once in a while I will include a picture of me in my spreads, the elevator at my  work place has a great full length mirror and every once in a while I’ll snap a picture of myself, especially when it’s on a day that I feel especially trendy. 😉 Of course that must be documented!

I love how this spread turned out, it is light in color and full of fun stories! My personal LP album is meant to be fun and offer more flexibility than my family LP. I can create a spread purely because I want to be creative or because I need to document a story, this spread is a little bit of both!!  I hope you are inspired to create your own personal LP, our stories are important and should be documented! Happy creating friends!
