We are so excited to introduce you to this month’s guest designer…Yohko Takiguchi! Yohko was the international winner of our guest designer contest with MME and we are so happy that she is here with us today!
My name is Yohko Takiguchi. I live in Nagoya, Japan with my husband and two sons, 12 and 13 years old. I work as a research assistant in a molecular biology lab.
Here is what Yohko came up with using our November kits. We love her fun use of color and her fabulous layering.
Q: What is your favorite storage method?
A: I store my paper and embellishments in boxes. I place them on my shelves just like books.
Q: How did you get started scrapbooking?
A: I started scrapbooking in 2004. I made the album to celebrate the graduation of the nursery school for my son.
Q: Do you follow trends? If so, what it your favorite right now and how do you incorporate it into your work?
A: I don’t like following trends. My style is simple but I love to incorporate some trends like banners, 3D stickers on my layouts.
Q:What is your must have supply and why?
A: I love many products! But one product that I’ve always loved is rhinestones. They are so cute.
Q: How did you get on your first design team?
A: I applied to some challenge sites. I was chosen by Creative Scrappers. I was so excited.
Q: Any advice for those wanting to design on a team?
A: The important thing is to make a layout you yourself like. Don’t be afraid of challenging yourself and trying new things.
Thank you so much for joining us this month, Yohko. We adore the beautiful inspiration you’ve provided!
