Hi Everyone! Emily here! Happy Friday, and welcome to the another edition of “Pinspired with Gossamer Blue!” The second Friday of every month I will share a layout inspired by something I discovered on Pinterest!
On most months when I begin this challenge, I have an idea in mind of what I would like to use as inspiration – maybe it’s a quote or an art piece I had previously pinned. This month, however, I started off at square one with absolutely nothing.
I have talked about this in the past, but one of the quickest and easiest ways to find inspiration on Pinterest it to simply search for “graphic design” or “graphic poster” or something similar. This month, when I searched, I immediately was drawn to one very simple image – something very different than what I normally like when looking for inspiration. This image comes from a series of photos that was used in an article about super foods.
Here is photo that caught my attention:

I have been gazing longingly at the fabulous piece of exclusive days of the week handwritten paper by One Little Bird that came in the Main Scrapbooking Add-On. This is probably my favorite paper this month.
However, it’s just a little bit busy (did I really just say that? I’m the queen of busy!) so I was looking for a way to tone it down – and this design, with the cut title on top, is perfect!
I used my die cut machine to cut my title out of black cardstock and used foam adhesive to attach to my patterned paper to give the layout a little dimension. It took me awhile to find a title that would fill up my space properly. I tried lots of super hero type titles, but ultimately, “Every Single Day” fit perfectly AND it fits with the days of the week paper!
The one thing I didn’t do well when planning out my die cut title was measuring the overall size of the black paper. It ended up being a bit smaller than I was expecting. To make up for the extra space, I added the strip of yellow stripes at the bottom, because really, a layout can never have too many yellow stripes! I dug through my embellishments and pulled out as many red, yellow, and black/gray items as I could find and tried to include them wherever possible!
This layout makes me smile. It’s not the world’s greatest photo, but it cracks me up – my son wearing his fake sunglasses after he went to the eye doctor in his Batman costume. These silly memories tend to be the ones I love to document the most!
I would love to see your take on this piece of visual inspiration! To play along and post your layouts in the Pinspired gallery. I can’t wait to see your projects! Have a great weekend, and happy scrapping!
