Stamping on Vellum

Happy December! I have a couple of cards to share with you using mainly the December Bits & Pieces kit with the beautiful Teresa Collins paper pad, buttons and the stamp set in that kit. I love Valentine’s Day (which is right around the corner if you think about it!) and sending cards to special people in my life to show them how much I appreciate them, so I’ve created two fun cards utilizing the heart-shaped “love” stamp and vellum that I’ve added from my stash.

Here are the cards I’ve made from this kit…

#cards by Danielle Flanders for Gossamer Blue

On the hearts card, I stamped the “Love” stamp onto vellum and embossed it with white embossing powder and cut it out. I popped it up over one of the Evalicious round tags from the kit.

Love how the black typography on the tag behind the white heart sets it off. To create the misted hearts in the background, I used a gray mist called Graphite that I’ve had for some time, punched 3 hearts out of a paper to create a mask, and sprayed over the top of the mask with the mist onto my card front.

The other hearts were punched with a heart punch from the gorgeous patterned papers! I love all of the patterns so much in this paper pad and how well they coordinate!

I also stamped some envelopes to go with these. Can’t forget the envelopes!

The second card uses a panel of vellum layered over the center of the cute polka dot paper. It’s also stamped with the love stamp and embossed with white embossing powder. Vellum softens the look of any patterned paper, but I like to leave a bit of the background paper sticking out, so you can get the full effect of how the vellum is softening the whole look! The “love, love, love” die cut is from the main December kit.
