Hi all. Traci with you today. I don’t know about you, but no matter how often I use a kit, I still have little doodads and knickknacks, paper scraps and stickers left over. This is especially hard for me to use up later if they’re very themed like the Simple Stories stickers from the July Gossamer Blue kit. In order to use up some of these scraps, I created a small insert for my Life Pages album to recap our bucket list for the Summer.

Kit Leftovers from July, August and September

The first thing I did was choose 19 photos to represent our bucket list activities and printed them out at 2×2 inches, which is the size of the pockets of a coin-collector’s page protector. An easy way to do this in Photoshop or PSE is to add 6 2x2s to a 4×6 canvas and print them out all on one sheet. Next, I cut out 19 2×2 squares of leftover paper. These are companion squares to the photos, so as you can see, when I arranged the photos in the pockets, I made sure that each photo has a corresponding patterned paper square next to it.
Next, I added little label stickers from the Simple Stories I
When I had all my stickers situated, I printed out the number labels I designed on full sheet label paper (you can download them here) and used my Fiskars 1″ circle punch to cut them out.
I adhered each label to it’s corresponding paper square next to the photos. I offset them and changed them up from square to square to add visual interest.
I used the remaining portion of the full sheet label paper to add captions to the photos that were our bucket list items. I used my typewriter to do this, but you can also do it in your photo editing program.
I then adhered those to the correct paper squares and further embellished my insert.
And voila! A super easy insert that used up the majority of my kit scraps!
